BİM: Known as the ultimate budget king. It has a streamlined layout and focuses on everyday essentials (dairy, pasta, oil, and household goods) under its own private labels (like Dost for dairy). Their prices are universally capped across the country, meaning a bottle of water costs the same in Ölüdeniz as it does in an un-touristed city.

A101: Highly comparable to BİM but usually offers a slightly wider variety of international/national brands alongside their budget labels.

They are famous for their Aktüel (weekly special) deals on Thursdays, which range from cheap beach gear to discounted electronics.

Şok: Very similar pricing to BİM and A101, but Şok generally has a slightly better and more frequently discounted selection of fresh fruits and vegetables.

While you will find a couple of these tucked away in the upper residential streets of Hisarönü and Ovacık (the hilltop towns just above Ölüdeniz beach), the selection is much broader if you take a short 10-minute dolmuş (local minibus) ride up the hill away from the immediate resort strip.

If you want familiar international brands, a wider fresh meat counter, or need to buy beer, wine, or spirits, you will need to head to Migros or CarrefourSA.

CarrefourSA Well-stocked with both local and international brands. Stick to their private "Carrefour" branded goods for budget savings.

Supermarkets are great for packaged goods, but you should never buy fruits, vegetables, cheeses, or olives at a supermarket if you want to save money. Instead, go to the local open-air market (Pazar).

The closest major weekly markets are located in Fethiye (easily accessible via a direct, cheap dolmuş ride from Ölüdeniz):

Insider Shopping Tips for the Pazar:

Shop late: If you go between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM as the market is wrapping up, vendors slash their prices drastically to avoid hauling the produce back. You can buy kilograms of fresh tomatoes, figs, peaches, and cucumbers for pennies.

Look for prices in writing: Most vendors display prices clearly per kilo (e.g., 15 TL / Kg). If there is no price tag, ask “Ne kadar?” (How much?) before they bag it to ensure you aren't given a "tourist tax" price.

The Cheese & Olive Lineups: Don't hesitate to point at cheeses or olives and ask for a taste ("Tadımlık?"). They will gladly hand you a sample, and buying it fresh by the gram is significantly cheaper than buying plastic-wrapped blocks at the grocery store.

In Ölüdeniz Beach (Belcekız / Lower Area)

Options are very limited here. There are small local mini-markets, but they are expensive. For absolute essentials at the beach without traveling up the hill, look for the Migros Jet or a local Şok if available in the backstreets. Avoid the unmarked "Supermarkets" directly on the beachfront promenade for anything other than an emergency cold drink.

In Hisarönü & Ovacık (The Upper Resort Areas)

This is where budget shopping becomes easy. The main road connecting Ovacık and Hisarönü features several A101, BİM, and Şok branches. Because these towns house a mix of expat residents and tourists, the discount stores here keep honest local pricing.

The Fethiye "Big Shop" Run

If you are staying in Ölüdeniz for more than a few days or are renting a self-catering villa, hop on the dolmuş to the Taşyaka neighborhood of Fethiye (the entrance of the city coming from Ölüdeniz). Here you will find the massive MMM Migros, which has a huge selection, wholesale prices, and a great alcohol department.
